I mean, isn't a 'deal' supposed to save you money?

By that metric, how awesome is the "All Valve Stuff Evar" package. £52 or something, contains both LFDs, all the HL2/HL1 stuff about... etc.

Awesome.

sounds like a good deal, but unfortunately I've got the HL episodes already and played Portal several times, not too keen on the L4D series, so probly not much in it for me, good for those who haven't yet experienced the awesome that is Valve though ^_^

Yeah, s'true. I have it all anyway. Sad Silver package on HL2 release =D. Would've got Gold, but didn't have the cash. =(

I don't buy new clothes, etc. Just games. If you're playing games, you clearly don't need clothes!

Steam Sale for this weekend is Counter Strike: Source (CS:S). If anyone hasn't got this or played it already then WTF?!

It's one of the best online shooters ever made and has had a massive following since it came out 5 years ago. Even though it's 5 years old the graphics still stand up and it's had massive amounts of updates.

For £3.50 (75% off) it's a total steal and is one of, if not the, flagship PC game for this society. By the start of next term the society will have its own CS:S server and we'll be doing Mixes (organised 5v5 matches with other teams).

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS GAME ALREADY THEN BUY IT NOW! IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Awesomes, I might buy it to gift to everyone xD but yeah buy this game, its not so pretty like MW2 but hell its so much better.
Also, gamersoc server = win, I will be top of ranks every month lols (just because I spend all of my time on CSS).
It would be good to have more people to mix with since my clan are the laziest bunch of fuckers I know haha. Speaking of which we (my clan) are also thinking of getting a public server soon, so you can come on and pew pew with us too if you want.

It is indeed, but gents... I have more pressing news.

STEAM CHRISTMAS SALE IN FULL EFFECT!

There are some hellishly good deals going down, might I recommend, even for those averse to the better/larger games, the rather good Defence Grid (previously accoladed by the delightful Jay-Rewok) for the mind-boggling price of £1.74!

Other than that, there are some awesome deals on, both in a "daily" format (though today is 40 hours long), and for the full period until January 3rd. I will attempt to list those I can see on my tiny screen below:
Today Only
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl £1.39 (!)
GTA:IV £4.99
OpFlash: Dragon Rising £14.99 (=P)
Mirrors Edge £3.74 (When will they get tired of selling this?)

Throughout the Period of Sale
"Great Deals" (Up to 80% off) throughout the entire store inc.
Borderlands et DLC (and everything else published by 2k) 33% off (Ie, buy the DLC now for savings of about 2£.

Ahh, hell, guys, sorry, I've got bored, and I'm browing on my laptop. Linky! Check it out, and discuss!
http://store.steampowered.com/

Love and Christmas Spirit and whatnots to All!
Hoorah for Valve, and Happy Gaming!

Great Deals:

Fav games:
Stalker £1.39 (buggy as hell but if you're willing to put up with it its one of the best rpg/fps games you will play.)
Bioshock £9.37 (this game was cheap before the sale, and worth more than the £30 at release, why do you not have it already?)

GET DEFENCE GRID NOW!

Also for the price i'd recomend mirrors edge and play it with a console controller. There is a lot wrong with this game but you will get £3.50 worth of enjoyment. I can't wait to see the other sales that come up Very Happy

p.s. get defence grid!

Edit: p.p.s. also get trine. it freekin' rules!

I also just noticed that Beyond Good & Evil is on sale for £2.50. This is a really good game. It's a little bit of a buggy port and it's best to play it with a controller (which isn't supported, you'll need to download a program called XPadder). It is however really worth £2.50. The story and characters are really great and the gameplay is fun.

Check out my review of it Here
