The 360 community for Modern Warfare aint that great either, a lot of amerifags being all 'lulzheadshotgaycampergrenaderfag' types to be afraid of : D
But yeah, definately getting this for 360 myself, and the trailer is pretty cool!

Essentially, there is just a long list of irritating shit that exists in CoD4 online, but it's mostly just grenade spam. Other top annoyances include the doubletap+P90 combo, due to unreasonable amounts of damage regardless of player precision.

I FUCKING HATE JUGGERNAUT
Spesh as I use a sniper and am not pro enough to pull off headshots all the time!
The boat map with grenades is awful - shoebox can tell you how much I rage -_-
Would love to play it on PC myself, but dont have the specs for it so have to stick with 360...

Yeah, boat map is just one gigantic clusterfuck of who can throw the most grenades. I tried it too, scored more kills than anyone else without firing a single round. Something is fucked up there. Juggernaught isn't too bad on realism servers, two or three shots of a G3 or the M14 is enough to drop pretty much anyone, I can't decide which I prefer. I dislike how I can't have a red dot sight and a silencer; I've never been that great with the iron sights, they just seem so clumsy and bulky, the moment you're using it, your peripheral vision disappears. Then again I'm fairly certain having both would be overpowered somehow.

Good news for all us PC fans. You can pre-order MF2 from amazon.co.uk for just £30 as aposed to the £45 you have to pay for console. This would be enough for me to pre-order a copy, but I really want to get it over steam so I don't have yet another cd and case littering my room.
BTW here's some tasty new footage of MF2's Multiplayer:
As a side note Activision are telling Infinity Ward that the title has to come with the CoD name attached so that it will sell more copies. Infinity Ward are resisting for the moment but it's only a matter of time. Not that this will effect the game in anyway. It's just a shame to see that IW won't be able to break MF2 away from CoD as they were hoping.

amazing, I've not been a great fan of the whole series after online. I played both on the xbox and pc and pc far surpasses it! I do love the single player which is always good. I don't know if anyone else spotted it, but when it goes m 1 2 and then 3. Sequel much?

Well activsion is looking like the new EA, and they have been quoted saying "we're not intrested in making games which we can't release 'anualisable'". The thing is i'd be just as pissed off at Activsion as I am at EA, apart from the fact that unlike EA, Activision release games that work which are also really good. Here's a small list of games Activision are releasing within the year which are going to cost a metric fuck ton: CoD4:MF2 (prestige edition LOLOLOLOLOL) DJ Hero Guitar Hero 5 I'm sure there are more coming out but I can't think of any right now. I'll relisten to the podcasts I've downloaded and update it then

I might be answering my own question here by seeing how far down the forum i had to look to find this topic, but is anyone still excited for this game?
Personally as a PC gamer recent MW2 news has just been putting me off the game. Activision have just been treating their customers like idiots for quite awhile now. Here's a little list that sums up why i'm no longer on the CoD bandwaggon:
MW2 restricted to 9v9 and no dedicated servers
Before MW2 has even been released Activision have already confirmed another sequal that will be released next year. http://gamerlimit.com/2009/11/new-call-of-duty-and-guitar-hero-in-2010-confirmed/
The price hike. Raising the price of a game becasue you know your fanbase is dumb enough to pay any money is just taking the piss.
To be honest i'm more looking forward to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I never thought i'd ever say I was looking forward to an EA game, but that's really just to show how bad activision are now.

I'm still hyped for the game, just pre-ordered it. Sure, Infinity are being very gay with the prices, but if you buy it on a proper format (ie PC) the price isn't that bad. Plus I've seen so many gameplay video's that make this game look so damn epic in so many ways.
Dunno about that 9v9 thing, not seen that anywhere else but the best games I ever played in CoD4 were 8v8 clan matches so even if it is limited to 9v9, it's a good number of people. Remember the time when it was all about how many people you could cram into one server? Remember a certain 'Frontlines'? Remember how shit 42 player online was? Yeah, so I support the 9v9 thing if that is true.
As for reviews, I have learnt to ignore most reviews I read and only focus on what facts they actually tell me, after reviews telling me that forza 2 was 'parallel to GT4' and that Medieval2 'lacked replayability and scope'. I have pre-ordered MW2 for PC and I will make my own oppinion of the game when I play it ^_^
Sure, Inf Ward have been sucked into the corporate marketing trap but tbh, when have they disappointed when it comes to FPS? These guys MADE CoD what it is, trust.
EDIT: sorry, its Activision that are the gay price whores, and Inf ward who are the Developing gods my bad

Left 4 Dead 2 on PC for me, MW2 on 360.
Am I excited? Not really, more excited about getting Dragon Age on PC when I finally get around to begging one of yous to build me a decent rig
I was looking forward to it, but the trailers haven't impressed me, and the launch trailer with Emineememem was just meh... I really hope it isn't anywhere in the game. Not that I hate rap or anything, just it kinda kills the gameplay for me if 'reallife' music is anywhere near games.

if what Ewok says is true about MW2, then it would be a massive let down - especially after reading that players cant be kicked from ranked severs, honestly wtf just doesnt sum it up.
i'll see what the reviews are like after its out and then i'll consider getting it for PC.
But in general im staying loyal to Battlefield 2, althought flashpoint is ok, its just not for me.

Yeah I don't know how activision did it but they really have thrown me off the bandwagon too. If I am going to get it, it'll be for the pc regardless of server size. + in my own opinion less is more when playing online. Having too many players can often ruin the experience

Wouldnt say epic... tis good, but considering the hype I expected more. Also gulag mission and who is ze prisoner is well... meh. They dont show any side effects of being there either which is also meh. Trying to watch what I say cos of spoilers...!
Online is to be expected, a prettier version of CoD4 with more guns. The balance is a bit better, and there is more depth with your class selection which is always good.
Overall, a very good game but I dont feel it adds anything particularly innovative to the fps genre. I could spend many hours a day playing it, but if you have CoD4 and are expecting something massively different and groundbreaking, I think youd be dissapointed!
Subject: Re: Modern Warfare 2 Sun Dec 13, 2009 3:48 pm
well I felt the atmosphere of some of the single player campaign was just amazing. Firefights in the White House? I mean, thats just awesome tbh. and yeah the story is patchy in places and yes its not exactly an original concept, run around on a set course and shoot em all. But, why fix what is not broken? I like the style of play, the graphics have been improved fairly significantly over MW. I never expected anything groundbreaking, tbh, I didnt think the campaign could get much better than MW's but it did.
Plus play on veteran and it really does play well, gets you checking all your corners and tactically flashing, its good stuff, ill probably play MW 1 + 2's campaigns again several times, which is more than I can say for a LOT of other FPS games.
Also, I have noticed a very big difference in the graphical quality of xbox and PC versions, my flatmate has the 360 version and the framerate is quite poor at times even with AA being set to something quite low it seems. Oh well, guess thats another point for PC owners
IMO It's a well-rounded, thought out, great shooter.
Only commenting on PC single-player cos MP is a whole other story tbh, better than MW slightly, but just as frustrating if not more so.
