Killing Floor

I'm surprised nobody has talked about this, since it was released last May, but oh well.

I'm only mentioning it now because they're doing this game on a free weekend, and it got me interested since I saw one of my Steam friends playing it. It seems to be sorta like a typical zombie survival horror game, without the zombies. Instead you're up against malformed clones of some description. It's kinda like Counter Strike (BLEH) in that you get money for killing the hoardes and stuff, but it's also got some nifty features like having to go find the merchant to buy the goods, and being able to weld doors shut to direct the flow of the monsters. Also, it's a 6 player co-op game, so it should be fun.

Also, it's set in England. Hooray.

I've downloaded it, so I'll play with anyone else interested.

killing floor rules. if you can find rubbish english accents funny and love to kill hordes of mutants then i recommend that you check this out this weekend.

Jay, Will and myself have it as far as I know! But yeah. Tis a good game, but I get a bit bored of it after 30 mins or so.

Ah, my apologies Amaya, I hadn't thought of that. As I rarely meet anyone on here, you can surely forgive me that much.
I've only played Killing Floor for about 5 mins this morning but it definitely has my interest. It's also cheap, which is good.
As for it being a little bad, I had fun playing Zombie Panic!. I'm sure I can cope.

i've fallen in love with this game all over again. i'm currently leveling up a demoman, i just love the way you can wipe out a group with nade launchers. and pipebombs make such easy work out of fleshpounders. i usually only play on normal servers so it's easy to get to the end of long wave servers. but once i level up a bit more and maybe join a server with friends who have comms i'd love to try out some long wave hard or extreme

Awesome idea. I think they fixed something to do with the pipe bombs though. Something about not being able to superspam them on the tougher experiments, or stockpile them by dropping them somewhere.
Anyway, I'd like the idea of some of us getting together at some point to take on suicidal long modes or something. At the minute I'm trying to do more Specialist stuff but I'm at level 3 with sharpshooter if you need me.

Would be interested in playing KF with some peeps. Not that great at it though, think im level 2 sharpshooter or something

Though i broke my laptop screen recently, so need to try and build a rig asap or something

If enough people seem interested enough in playing this again then maybe we can get our own server? I tried setting up my own server but it looked complicated.

I have two geust passes for this game. I have no idea how long each of the geust passes last for but I know I only have untill 11/1/10 to hand them out.

This mod looks good but is not. Respawn times are long and spent looking at your corpse, majority of weapons are ridiculously overpowered, and nobody has set up any servers for it so mostly it's offline play with bots that are difficult even on 'fresh rookie' level.

Meh, I did play online with a load of others, just didn't really enjoy it that much. Not as polished as KF itself, and to me KF isn't all that polished.

(though it's pretty good, this is an "IMO" type post)
