| Ok first, anyone who has a psp, have you tried this, successfuly or unsuccessful? I was recently talking to a friend of mine who could get any game he wanted, any format he wanted, on his psp. HOW YOU ASK? By of course downgrading his psp to a custom firmware. This requires hardmodding and also softmodding. Ive done it once before but the first time I did it was with an experimental Tiff image which you open to fuck up your psp, then it will be downgraded and able to play homebrew games, it was excellent. Unfortunatly this wont work anymore, I also wouldn't want to do it again because the creators of the tiff went through about 15 psp's before getting thier software right!!! so it was very tempremental in the first place. With psp version 5.01 now out ( and me stupidly updating it DOH) And me not having enough money for games anymore, ive had to resort to downloading and hacking everything I get my hands on. Recently i seem to be screwing the games industry over. Soz guys lol but yeah, many websites who ask for a payment can offer all this with all the info on how to mod your psp to play anygame you want. Ive also come across some very good forums which I might consider trying first. Many require that you make a "pandoras battery" and a magic mem stick. It really isnt as hard as it looks. check this out Just wondered if anyone else has done this, or wants to do the same as me. IM NOT CHEAP I JUST LIKE GAMES AND NEED TO SPEND MONEY ON RL FOOD! ( thats if Jay has a go at me) Edit: when i say any format I dont mean format type, sorry, I mean platform e.g. SNES / PS1 / Gameboy etcetcetcetc | |

| hacked my psp back in the early days, like about the time when 2.0 was out. i think that was the tiff image buffer overflow exploit? kept it hacked since then, but i dont really play it anymore. still on some custom 3.0 software i think. fun for snes emulators and stuff though. tbh i have more fun hacking things than i do actually making use of the hacks. i recently softhacked my wii, so i have a multitude of emulators on that, plus it can play DVDs and pirated games (BUT SUPPORT THE INDUSTRY SRSLY). | |

| Hey i ordered a tool battery and gonna hack my PSP, mostly for emulators, but i was wondering once you make a magic memory stick and use it for putting custom firmware on can you still use it as a normal memory stick for game saves, etc? | |

| yeah basically, just read up on all the info you can get about hacking your psp. It's not too hard if you do the research.
ok, about the magic memory stick. It must be a proper sony one that is either 4gb or under ( 8gb wont work when creating the MAGIC MEM STICK ). I used a 512 one to hack my psp. Once I did that I got my 8gb mem stick and just put all the data and files on that and the hacked psp plays them completly fine. To make the orignal mem stick that will change your psp it must be 4gb and under, after the psp is hacked you can use any mem stick to run games/music/vids/gamesaves etcetc. | |

| oh dont think I quite replied properly. yes you can use the mem stick that you used as the magic one. Just be sure that its formatted correctly or whatever with the right folders e.g. ROOT -> PSP / MUSIC / VIDEO etcetc | |
