| Just wondering what sort of music people were into, as usually gaming goes hand in hand with rockers it seems but im the odd ball, i cant get enough of drum and bass and dubstep, also like other forms of obscure dance like psytrance. | |

| I'm really into Ska(/punk) with a helping of Metal, I've always found gamers to be more into metal/trance, in my area. I also enjoy an occasional serving of glitchcore, and random remixes. =-) ...people may not like it, but the Chemical Brothers used to go quite well with UT2k3... I've had some really random LAN parties. =\ | |

| METAL! but also loads of drum and bass, breakbeat, acoustic girly guitar/piano... I'm currently listening to the castle crashers soundtrack over and over with a bit of "nerdcore" such as MC Chris and MC Frontalot. | |

| progressed from reggae music, very very basey music. absolutely pointless listening to it with no kick ass sub woofer, but fortunatly i have one . if you want to hear it search 'coki spongebob' in youtube, thats one of my faves, can get a bit repetetive at time, so best is to download dubstep mixes from barefiles.com so your not listening to the same tune for 6 minutes, they usually mix it after 2 minutes. | |

| (And that's not including 32000 in the HVSC) So, can anyone think of what my favourite genre is? ------------ Video game music from older console eras have generally been ripped to a sequenced format depending on the console. I'll list them here along with a Winamp plugin you can use to play them, and where to download game soundtracks. Enjoy. Console: .extension - Plugin name - Download source SNES: .spc/.zst - SNESamp - Zophar.net (Note: change .zst to .zip and extract .spc files) N64: .usf/.miniusf - 64th Note - USF Central (Note: You need to disable the spectrum analyser in Winamp 5.5 to avoid 64th Note crashing.) PS1: .psf/.minigsf - Highly Experimental - Zophar.net GBA: .gsf/.minigsf - Highly Advanced - GSF Central NES: .nsf - Bleep! - Zophar.net SMS/GG: .vgm - VGM Input Plugin - Zophar.net C64 - .sid - SidPlay2 - HVSC And to get a whole BUNCH of mp3 soundtracks, Galbadia Hotel has mp3 versions of pretty much any game you can think of, but it's a bit tedious to download entire albums, since download links are on separate pages to avoid mass downloads. If you earn enough credits you can earn mass downloading for certain periods of time, but I think there might be a way around that by opening all the links in tabs, then using a download manager or something. There's also Overclocked Remix for game music remixes (check the DKC2 section, Protricity is amazing), and an awesome project that I've come across is ZREO (Zelda Re-Orchestrated). An orchestral team has taken it upon themselves to re-record every Zelda track as a full orchestra, and it's nothing less than beautiful. Anyway, enjoy yourselves. (I've just noticed; my Winamp constant playlist contains 1107 items; just under 800 of which are direct game music or game remixes... sweet.) | |

| Any kind of rock music usually does for me. Usually I stick with heavy metal (in a real metalcore mood at the moment) but lighter rock also works for me at times. | |

| Ah music, I guess I'm tending towards prog metal and such at the moment, Dream Theater especially. To name a few others though, Ramallah, In Flames, Finch and Ill Nino all rank highly amongst my most listened to bands. I have to say though I don't listen to music while I'm playing most games; I like to hear what's going on around me most of the time, especially in fpses where having a fancy soundcard with fancy speakers and fancy surround sound can actually give you an edge. | |

| Video Game soundtracks are awesome, which is partly what got me into chiptune i think. nothing better than getting a gameboy out and making music on it! | |
